Gout Now Afflicting More Americans Than Ever Before

Ran across an interesting blog post showing that gout is now affecting more Americans than every before. Even women, who are 4 to 5 times less likely to get gout, because of the protective properties of estrogen, are now getting gout in increasing numbers. It is blamed on obesity and the consumption of more alcohol. But I suspect it is also what we are not eating that is contributing to gout. There are simple diet changes that can be made to help.
